‘Every Man Has His Critics’ is the latest album from Yorkshire based Artist/Musician Scott Wainwright. This album is the result of a nine-year song writing cycle, three years studio time and numerous musical, technical and artistic collaborations.

Scott has been a firm fixture on the Wakefield and Leeds music scene for the last five years and has touched on a number of styles and genres. Beginning early 2005 with sets of purely instrumental guitar pieces which produced a number of limited edition EP's, Scott then moved through Folk and Blues styles which have since morphed into something that embraces all those things and pulls in much more.

Recent appearance have found Scott drawing on Hip Hop, Blues, Gospel, Country, Folk, punk, Funk and Jazz as well as presenting a large portion of humour. A Scott Wainwright performance is never without comedic anecdotes and asides.

As an album, ‘Every Man Has His Critics’ has no particular stylistic axis, but every song has something in common with every other song. As an experimental artist Scott has pulled his blues and Folk influences through a more varied and colourful palette. For instance 'Deal Me Another Hand' is a ‘Bluesy Rap’ over a tuba driven baseline, which soon finds its way into apocalyptic ‘Rave’. Other tracks find 50’s Rock ‘n’ Roll, Skiffle, Punk, Junkyard Blues, Raw Gospel, Beat Poetry and Toys ‘R’ Us as a starting point and then wandering into un- charted territory. The whole album ends in near neo-classicism with the solo piano piece ‘There Will Be Praise’
